                                              Audio Description Training 

                                            

Due to personal circumstances I was unable to attend the Audio Description Training on the 7th of April 2021 with Zoe Partington.

I have since watch the session through a couple of times and taken part in the practical parts which were a lot of fun. Zoe recommended a book by Louise Fryer called An Introduction to Audio Description. I treated myself to a copy from an online retailer which arrived yesterday which I’ve spent a lot of time reading.

It’s led me to revisit Tehmina’s session about Interpretation and (re)Presentation. The TV programme Ways of Seeing by John Berger that we were asked to watch in preparation for the session and what I have read from Berger’s book which accompanied the television series. 

 It’s made me  step back and think about what do people want from audio described pictures? 

 Action -  they want to know the how and what of what’s happening. 

 Can I bring that to my audio descriptions?

 I’m not sure, but I will give it a go.
